Join us for an afternoon of cakes, craft and information about how we can support and welcome refugees to our communities.
The café will include stalls, contact me through our Facebook page if you would like to have a stall. We hope to have home baking, craft, Fairtrade etc. Donations would be welcome from anyone having a stall.
Most important, bring your ideas! This is one of the biggest mass movements of people we have ever seen, but unfortunately governments have not responded as they have done in the past when the armed services were deployed in humanitarian activities to set up camps and shelters to protect people from the ravages of the weather. As ever, it is the elderly, the women and children who are suffering most. They are all part of our human race and need our active help.
WKWfI hope that this will be the beginning of ongoing action to support refugees, not just in a material way, but by making sure that there is warmth and understanding to greet them too.
West Kilbride is a small town in North Ayrshire, just south of Largs and north of Ardrossan, Saltcoats and Stevenston. Can't boast too much public transport, but we have an hourly train service from Glasgow and half hourly buses, so not too hard to reach!
