The event is open to all women and is free to attend, although a bucket collection will be taken on the day to cover the costs of venue hire.
Alloa Town Hall is fully accessible by public tranpsort.

Clacks WFI have kindly offered to do teas & coffees for donations, but note that food will not be available.

1.30 pm Welcome & Opening Remarks
Welcome From Tina Murphy, Provost of Clackmannanshire

2pm Open Session - DOING POLITICS DIFFERENTLY
What do we mean when we say we want to do this? This will be an open mic session, where anyone who wants to speak will be given an opportunity. We want to talk about adversarial politics; do they work? Can politics be kind? How do we disagree without being disagreeable?
3pm Choice of Workshops
1. Land Reform & Community Empowerment - Rosemary Hunter & Maggie Mellon
2. Back to School Banks; what they are, how they work, etc. - Sandra Douglas
3. Fracking & UGE - Maria Montinaro (anti-fracking activist)
4. Carers - Sue Lyons
4pm Open Session - PROSTITUTION
The Scottish Parliament is looking at its policy on prostitution. Many support the Nordic model, where demand is criminalised, but others are calling for fuller decriminalisation/legalisation of sex work. The debate is heated, but we want a session where we discuss the issues with respect and open minds. We are not expecting to reach detailed consensus, but we hope to identify those related issues that we can all agree on and will adopt our position accordingly.
4.50 Closing Remarks - Gillian Martin
5pm - CLOSE
Please note; this event is women only.
