National Council is the sovereign decision-making body of Women for Independence between AGMs.
Our first ever National Council will be held in East Kilbride in June. Each affiliated Women for Indy group is entitled to send two voting members (who must also be members of the national organisation).
Because of the size of the venue, we are also able to offer spaces to other women who support Women for Independence, who need not be paid-up members. They are welcome to contribute to our discussions but, in the event of a vote, they will not be able to vote.
It is free to book a place but, if you can afford it, we invite you to make a donation towards the costs of the event.
The agenda for the meeting will be sent out to all registered participants a week or so beforehand.
The hall is very accessible for public transport, being right next to East Kilbride bus station. A number 6 First Bus from Glasgow takes about an hour. There is also a train service, which takes about 40 minutes from Glasgow Central and leaves at 18 and 48 minutes past the hour. East Kilbride station is about 10 minutes walk from the venue. There is a public car park beside the hall, please note that charges apply for this car park.
